Give us a brief summary of your experience?

Throughout the course of this five week study abroad trip, I was able to experience Ireland's rich culture. Traveling from Dublin, to Ballyvaughan, to Galway, I experienced its cities, countryside, unique landscapes, museums, and festivals. Through the lens of art and literature, I gained an understanding of the country's history and culture, both of which its people are so proud of.

How did this experience impact you academically?

During this trip, we visited many museums, historical landmarks, and had many artists, authors, and climate experts come speak to us. Being able to see these important sites in person and learn about them and their history first hand was incredibly enriching. Additionally, hearing from such established and successful authors and artists was extremely inspiring.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

I hope to enter the field of publishing after graduating. Being able to talk to some of the authors who are already established in their fields was a very helpful opportunity; I learned about their publishing experiences, received advice, and had extremely meaningful and inspiring conversations with them. Further, participating in writing workshops with them was both technically enriching and inspiring creatively.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

Receiving enrichment funds from the College of the Liberal Arts was extremely helpful; I was able to focus less on the financial aspects of this study abroad trip and more on the experience itself. I am extremely grateful to have received the funds I did.
