Give us a brief summary of your experience?

I had the opportunity to study the psychology of religion and cultural psychology in Athens, Greece. Greece is a country that is rich in history, so I was able to apply all the information I have been learning in class to the historical sites I toured. I learned so much about ancient and contemporary Greek culture. Additionally, I learned a lot about myself. I am so thankful for this experience and I will cherish it forever.

How did this experience impact you academically?

Studying abroad allowed me to learn so much more beyond what I was learning in the classroom. I learned from every interaction and experience I had. I was able immerse myself into a new culture and expand my ways of prior thinking.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience allowed me to recognize what I am looking for in my future career. While connecting with individuals from all over the world and learning new ideas and perspectives from others, I realized that I need to work with people. Being around people makes me so happy, and I believe it is a key ingredient of my future career aspirations.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

My academic advisor helped me succeed in this program. Prior to applying to study abroad, my advisor and I worked diligently to make sure all the courses would count toward my major and fit into my academic plan. I am very thankful for her patience and encouragement!
