Brian Bachman

Liberal Arts Major: Political Science
Hometown: State College, PA
Experience Time: Spring 2022

Give us a brief summary of your experience?

I served as a brands and properties intern at Wasserman, working with the projects team on various tasks. These tasks have involved pitching brand strategy, doing desk research on clients, and much more. I have primarily worked on their NHL and NBA clients.

How did this experience impact you academically?

I have learned a ton from this internship regarding my intended career field, but it has resulted in some struggles with my schoolwork in terms of having time to prioritize all of my assignments. I have still kept up decently well in my classes, but I have had to sacrifice some time studying or small assignments. Overall, this experience has taught me how to properly manage my time and prioritize.

"This experience has [strengthened] my desire to work in this field and hone in on my passion for working in sports."

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience has impacted my career goals by strengthening my desire to work in this field and helping me hone in on my passion for working in sports. Also, I have really enjoyed interacting with different people from the company and would love to work there in a full-time position one day.

How has the College of the Liberal Arts helped you to find and/or succeed in this experience (e.g., adviser, faculty, staff, enrichment funds, etc.)?

My academic advisor Marcus Toomer was very helpful in helping me get my scheduling straight to ensure I would graduate one-time and have a manageable schedule while completing this internship.
