What was the best part of your experience?

The best part of my experience was being able to apply my abilities and skills from my liberal arts degree to a private sector internship. Being able to utilize my knowledge and background in the business world was both challenging and rewarding. I was able to expand my capabilities as I honed my analytical thinking skills while gaining more technical, business-related skills. It was a rewarding experience to see my transferable skills be put to use during my internship.

How did this experience impact you academically?

This experience has impacted me academically because it has increased my interest in business as well as the intersection between business and the public sector. This has led me to consider taking more business-oriented classes and possibly even some classes that teach technical skills. This experience has taught me that students who come from a liberal arts background are qualified to work in the private sector and capable of working in the private sector. This has increased my confidence in myself and my liberal arts degree!

How will this experience impact your career goals?

In terms of career goals, this internship has started me down a different path. Before this internship, my goal was to go straight into law school. Now, I have decided to work in public sector consulting for a few years before going to law school. While law school is still my end goal, this internship has opened my eyes to other career directions.
