Liberal Arts Major(s): Chinese
Other Major: Security and Risk Analysis
Minor: Asian Studies
Hometown: Apollo, Pennsylvania

What was the best part of your experience?

The most valuable aspect of this internship was the firsthand knowledge that I gained working as a cybersecurity consultant. Prior to this, I had little experience in the industry, let alone working on a team supporting Global 1000 and Fortune 1000 companies. Nevertheless, SRA not only provided an incredibly welcoming environment, but also supplied a litany of training opportunities to further supplement my technical skills.

In areas where I had previously struggled to connect concepts and abstractions to the real world I now feel much more competent.

How did this experience impact you academically?

Working in the field of consulting has been the true assessment of my capabilities with regard to my degree in Security and Risk Analysis (Information and Cyber Security option). In areas where I had previously struggled to connect concepts and abstractions to the real world I now feel much more competent.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

Having had the chance to interact with a wide variety of clients, I was fortunate enough to gain a glimpse of many different working environments. Undoubtedly, this insight will prove useful as I plan for my future post-graduation.

How has the Paterno Fellows Program had an impact on this experience?

The Paterno Fellows Program's emphasis on interdisciplinary studies has allowed me to pursue both my interest in cybersecurity and my passion for language study. This support has had a substantial impact on my academic and professional achievements.
