Liberal Arts Major: Psychology
Hometown: State College, Pennsylvania

What was the best part of your experience?

The best part of this experience is getting real-world experience that prepares me for entering the workforce. No class can replicate the things that I learned from this internship. I learned how to build a professional network and genuine relationships with coworkers. I also learned all about Human Resources and how HR collaborates with other departments.

How did this experience impact you academically?

My internship has helped reinforce many of the workplace related psychology and communication theories that I have learned in previous coursework. Specifically, there was a lot of focus on motivation and efficiency. It was interesting to be able to apply what I have learned in class to real world experience.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This internship has helped narrow down my future career path. By learning what I liked/did not like, I will be able to make better decisions when I enter the workforce upon graduation. For example, I learned that I do not want to work in a traditional office setting, I.e., sitting at a desk for most of my day--I feel like I am less productive. Thus, I’ll need to pursue a more hands-on career.
