What was the best part of your experience?

The best part of my experience as an intern so far has been learning about a field that I didn’t know much about and working large and private events. I have been fully immersed in a new field with a leading fashion public relations agency. I have been able to observe different aspects of the company, such as creative, event production, styling, pr, and digital pr. The company has a range of worldwide clients. Working events has shown me that I love the production side of PR.

"Even though my major does not directly reflect digital PR, I have been able to gain experience in the field that I feel is valuable and unique."

How did this experience impact you academically?

This has impacted me academically because I am taking an online course at the same time that is allowing me to reflect and grow while being an intern. Keeping up with assignments and having supervisor evaluations has allowed me to understand my strengths and weaknesses in various roles. Academically I have always been a driven and focused student. Working on a digital PR team has broadened my communicative skills that will help me as a student.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience is impacting the career I want to pursue once I graduate. I wanted to understand Public Relations, and more specifically digital PR. Now that I have this experience, I am able to better equip myself for applying to similar entry roles in the future. Even though my major does not directly reflect digital PR, I have been able to gain experience in the field that I feel is valuable and unique.
