What was the best part of your experience?

The best part of my experience with the Schreyer Honors College was being able to complete and compile profiles on various Penn State alumni. It is inspiring to see alumni of all ages from all over the globe invest in the same thing – the betterment of Penn State, and specifically, the Schreyer Honors College. The people of Penn State are truly what makes our institution as great as it is, and I am proud to be able to work with our University’s alumni and friends.

This experience was crucial for assisting me in better understanding some of the career paths that are available for me post-graduation

How did this experience impact you academically?

Being housed in the Schreyer Honors College was transformative due to the emphasis that is placed on scholarship within the office. The office’s mission is to support Schreyer Scholars, and as a Schreyer Scholar myself, the office always empowered me in my academic endeavors. I wouldn’t have completed my honors thesis without them!

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This experience was crucial for assisting me in better understanding some of the career paths that are available for me post-graduation. Further, with the many different projects that I have worked on throughout the year, I have realized that I would love a career in consulting where I am not doing the same thing month after month or year after year. I want a career that is always evolving and challenging me with a multitude of different projects, and this led me to pursue an opportunity at Deloitte that I accepted for post-graduation.

How has the Paterno Fellows Program had an impact on this experience?

The Paterno Fellows Program played a major role in making this experience as rewarding as it was. Because of the enrichment funds from the program, I was able to focus on my internship and grades, and not have to get another job on the side to provide housing or my weekly groceries. Further, the Paterno Fellows Programs has challenged me to perform better academically and to achieve my true overall potential.
