What was the best part of your experience?

Being able to work in congress in any capacity has always been a goal of mine, and being able to do so in an internship program for Congressman O’Rourke involved many amazing experiences. D.C. is a magical place; it is impossible to find a building or street that does not have historical significance. Being able to visit the Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress on an almost daily basis was incredible. In addition, being able to meet my own personal heroes Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg was indescribable.

From a young age it has been my ambition to live a life dedicated to helping others, and I was extremely ecstatic when I was given the opportunity to do just that under the guidance of someone I admire and respect greatly

How did this experience impact you academically?

Being given the opportunity to work alongside the most motivated and talented people I have had the pleasure of meeting was an amazing experience. I believe my work ethic improved immensely simply by being in an environment in which passion and kindness were constantly present. Working alongside very dedicated people who constantly worked on improving themselves inspired me to also work hard and improve. Luckily, the determination and passion of the people I met during my internship experience has stayed with me, hence I am determined to continue pushing myself.

How will this experience impact your career goals?
