What was the best part of your experience?
The best part of my experience was moving out of my comfort zone to a new city, all on my own. It taught me so much about myself.
I learned a lot about...how all of the people in the hospital work together to reach the common goals of helping patients and learning more about treatments
How did this experience impact you academically?
I learned a lot about how hospitals work, and how all of the people in the hospital work together to reach the common goals of helping patients and learning more about treatments. I also gained great research experience.
How will this experience impact your career goals?
The internship at Yale will certainly look great on a resume, but more importantly, I can speak to an interviewer about my time there. I participated in two research projects, went to grand rounds, tumor boards, and spent time shadowing the doctors in their daily practice. This further influenced my decision to attend medical school. I believe this experience will help me in my future as an aspiring medical student and doctor.
How has the Paterno Fellows Program had an impact on this experience?
I believe the Paterno Fellows Program helped me get the position, and the honors education I have taken part in certainly helped me to be a better intern over the summer!
