What was the best part of your experience?

Everything with the internship was absolutely incredible as I was able to live history and partake in traditions every day; the best part was working with some of the most incredible people I have ever met. Everyone I worked with was so kind. Whether they were other interns or senior staff members, everyone took time to get to know me and engage in a friendly conversation. One of the highlights was meeting the First Lady and being able to witness in person how sweet and kind she really is. I interned in the Office of the First Lady so I was able to work on something new every day; whether it was policy research for her Be Best campaign, helping with events, or creating media clipbooks, I always enjoyed my time sitting in the East Wing of the White House. I will never forget this truly incredible experience.

I learned something new every day, whether it was from the wise words of a senior staff member or just by taking on a task that I had never completed before.

How did this experience impact you academically?

This was truly an experience like no other; it helped me grow professionally and overall as a person. There were a lot of things that I learned, including life lessons, that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Overall, the internship made me more interested in politics and our government system in general.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

This internship helped me grow professionally and allowed me to network with some really amazing people. I learned something new every day, whether it was from the wise words of a senior staff member or just by taking on a task that I had never completed before. I was also able to learn a lot about our government and some of the incredible achievements happening.
