What was the best part of your experience?

This experience gave me the opportunity to be immersed in the culture, learn the language, and try new things. From living with a host family that only spoke Spanish in Puebla, to trying local cuisine in Veracruz, to zip-lining and cliff jumping in the forests of Cuetzalan, this experience was full of learning, discovery, and adventure!

How did this experience impact you academically?

Prior to this experience, I knew very little Spanish. I was scared, nervous, and devoid of confidence. Living in a Spanish speaking country for six weeks changed that completely. I had to use Spanish in nearly everything I did, and my language ability was greatly improved.

How will this experience impact your career goals?

Adaptability is one of the greatest skills someone could have and I feel that studying abroad in a place of different culture, language, and customs is one of the best ways to show adaptability.
