I received emails about signing up and I did! I went to the meeting about it also where people who have mentors shared their experience.

Tell us a little bit about your experience.

I really like my mentor. I feel that I can relate to her more because she's younger, which is really nice. What she does isn't what I want to do, so in terms of her guiding me through my major process, it didn't help but she's helped in terms of looking where to start, and what to do. We've talked on the phone and have met up in person. She lives in DC so it's nice to talk to someone who lives where I want to live!

How did this experience impact you academically?

It's nice to have a friend/mentor to help me and it's reassuring that she went through the same things as I did.

What are your career goals and plans?  How did this experience impact them?

My career goals have changed some during the time that she has been mentoring so the impact has more been just to keep researching and applying. I want to do the Peace Corps and eventually work in the international development field somehow.

Would you recommend this experience to other Liberal Arts students?

Yes, I think it gives a chance to students to know that other people went through the same thing, and you can make a friend out of it!
