Children of Staff Scholarship Fund

The College of the Liberal Arts Children of Staff Scholarship Fund was created by the faculty and staff campaign committee during the Grand Destiny campaign which ended in 2003.

The purpose of the fund is to recognize outstanding achievement by an undergraduate student enrolled at the Pennsylvania State University who is a child of a staff member in the College of the Liberal Arts.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time at Penn State in any major and location including the Pennsylvania College of the Technology and who are the children of full-time exempt, nonexempt, or technical staff members with one or more years of service in the College of the Liberal Arts are eligible. The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

Fall 2020 Application Process

Fall applications are accepted between October 5 through November 22, 2020. A completed application, resume, and brief essay are required.  Click here to complete the Children of Staff Scholarship Fund application.

Spring 2021 Application Process

Spring applications are accepted between January 11 through March 5, 2021. A completed application, resume, and brief essay are required. Click here to complete the Children of Staff Scholarship Fund application.

Selection Process

The recipients will be chosen by a committee appointed by the dean. Recipients will be notified in writing. Fall awards will be announced at the annual College's Staff Awards reception held in February. Spring awards will be announced one year from time of award at the annual College's Staff Awards reception held in February.

Disbursement of Funds

The amount of the award will be determined by income available. This amount may change each year. Reimbursement to the students bursar account will be made after the course is completed with a grade of “C” or better. Letter grades must be available after given semester of award; deferred grades are not accepted. These scholarships are not automatically renewable. A new application must be made each semester.
