Q: How often do you and your mentee speak? What do you talk about?

We interact weekly or depending on our schedules that may change, but for the most part we speak on a regular basis. We talk about all kinds of things, from interviewing and résumé writing, to Penn State and past-time activities…we really can talk about anything!

Q: How did you approach the time commitments in being a mentor?

At first I was concerned about my schedule and whether or not I could fulfill the time requirements successfully. I am often very busy at times and I had to consider whether or not I could be involved in a program like this. However, I was very interested in being a mentor so I made it work out.

Q: How do you feel about being a part of this Mentor experience?

It’s a worthwhile program. It provides a great opportunity to bridge our experiences as adults who have been through many things with what these young people are experiencing and where they are going.

Q: What is most fulfilling about your mentor/mentee relationship?

The most fulfilling aspect of my relationship with Jasmin (my mentee) is having the opportunity to help a “rock star” get famous.
