Q: What are some of the thoughts you had going into the program?

I was not sure how to go about meeting my mentor, or how easy or difficult it might be to relate to them. Although I had these few concerns, I was assured along the way that he would be a great person to have in my corner.

Q: How has your mentoring experience benefitted your academic/professional life?

I am very thankful for my mentor. He is always available when I need to talk about law school. When I was nervous about taking the LSAT’s, he put me in contact with an individual who was more comfortable talking about it and had me talk to him. Jim (my mentor) has also talked to me about my application process.

Q: What would you say to students about why they should participate?

It is a great way to network and find someone who has been in your shoes who can help you out along the way!

Q: What are your career goals and plans—and how has your mentorship influenced them?

I want to be an attorney and my mentor has been great about helping me with the application process for law school. He has offered to read over my personal statement and we’ve spoken about the schools I plan on attending.
