What enrichment activities did you participate in as a student?
As a track and field student-athlete, I ran the 800 meters at track meets Penn State attended.
What was your first job after graduating from Penn State?
I was able to get an entry-level sales training position upon graduation with Ferguson Enterprises.
What was your favorite class?
I enjoyed all my English classes because I enjoyed writing, reading, and understanding the history that influenced the time period of the writing we focused on.
How did your liberal arts education and skills prepare you for life after graduation?
A College of the Liberal Arts education was important for me because it taught me how to think critically in life after graduation.
What networking advice would you share with current students?
You must network, and you must learn HOW to network. It is a skill that can be learned and practiced. It is better to dig your well prior to needing water, than trying to dig your well while you are thirsty.
What role have mentors played in your career progression?
The fastest way to develop as a person in any discipline is to surround yourself with people who are ahead of you in the field that you are looking to master. This is how you stretch and develop as a person. There is book learning, OJT (on-the-job training) learning, and learning from a mentor. The most valuable thing in your professional life is having a mentor.
