We raised $5,517 to benefit the Centre County United Way!

Congratulations to the Friend-Raisers (representing Alumni Relations and Development) for bringing in $2,550 and thereby being crowned the 2012 fundraising champions.

We would also like to recognize the tremendous efforts of Team Psychology who raised $1,298 and the Onomatopeons (representing the English department) who raised $795.  Thank you so much to all the teams, and all the supporters, for each and every dollar contributed through this event.

Congratulations to all on your valiant efforts in the five Olympic events. The goal was to have fun and engage with your colleagues in a unique way, so whether you medaled in multiple events or none at all, we hope you enjoyed the day.

Thank you as well to all of the great volunteers who made sure everything ran smoothly. Your support was sincerely appreciated.

On behalf of the United Way Committee, thank you again!

  • Teams: Ten teams are registered to participate. We are grateful for the support of so many departments! (Registration closed June 15.)
  • Games: We will have some old favorites as well as some new ones. Games include: Office Obstacle Course, Enhanced Water Relay Race, Office Ladderball, Rubberband Archery, and Recycling Shotput.
  • Fundraising: This event is a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition with your colleagues in the College. It also serves as one of the biggest fundraising events we do throughout the year. We encourage each team to raise as much as possible leading up to the closing ceremonies. A trophy will be presented to the team with the highest total.
  • Volunteers: We need them! If you aren’t interested in being part of a team but want to be involved we would love your help. Please email Amanda Goble (amg283@psu.edu) if you want more details.
  • Costumes/Uniforms Not Required: There will not be prizes for best costumers this year. Your team is more than welcome to be as creative as you wish but we wanted to avoid adding things that would cost teams additional money.
  • Day of Logistics: Please arrive by 2:30 to the Sparks Lawn and be lined up on the Pattee Library steps by 2:45. The opening ceremonies will start promptly at 3:00.

On behalf of the entire United Way Committee, we would like to thank all of you in advance for your support!
