Creativity, Productivity, Grant Activity!

The Liberal Arts Research Office is prepared to assist faculty in their quest to conduct path cutting research by helping them develop research projects, submit grant proposals, and manage grant and contract funds. We are especially committed to working with faculty who are new to the grant writing process and to showing them how easy and rewarding the process can be.

Our increasing faculty strength and our investments in research infrastructure have led to a growing research portfolio, including more publications in top journals, more books published by leading presses, and more frequent citations – all indicating a rise in national reputation and esteem among our peers. Penn State is currently ranked seventh nationwide in federal dollars for social and behavioral science research.

Most important, research done by faculty in Penn State’s College of the Liberal Arts has positive effects on the lives of people everywhere, thus fulfilling the promise of a land grant university and achieving the highest aspirations of scholarly work.
