College of the Liberal Arts Staff Awards
The 2012 Liberal Arts Staff Awards reception was held on February 22, 2012 at the Nittany Lion Inn Ballroom from 3:00 - 5:00pm.

Nominations for the 2013 Staff Awards will open in the Fall.
LASER Award
The LASER (Liberal Arts Staff Employee Recognition) Program is designed to recognize, reward, and retain exceptional staff employees within the College. Candidates for the award must be nominated by their unit heads and submit a portfolio that will be reviewed by their supervisors, unit heads, and a selection committee.
Excellence Awards
These awards provide recognition to standing and fixed-term, non-exempt, exempt, and technical service employees in the College of the Liberal Arts (CLA) whose performance on the job is exceptional and best exemplifies professionalism and dedication to the mission of the College and the University. We seek nominations from department and program heads, supervisors, and coworkers for all types of work.
Esprit
The Esprit Award honors a staff member with an outstanding and enthusiastic attitude who promotes cooperation and a positive work climate, fosters an atmosphere of collegiality, cooperation, and respect for all, and exhibits a commitment to diversity and sensitivity to diverse populations.
Exceptional Service
The Exceptional Service Award is given to an employee who demonstrates exemplary customer service, professionalism, and initiative in continuous quality improvement, promotes productive and positive relationships across the unit and university, and demonstrates diplomacy and responsiveness.
Rising Star
The Rising Star Award goes to a staff member who has been here for one to three years, and in that short time has demonstrated an excellence in performance of responsibilities and dedication to the College and unit missions.
Outstanding Teamwork Award
The Outstanding Teamwork Award recognizes a team that worked together in an exceptional manner to complete an assigned task or that independently took on an improvement initiative supported by a unit head.
