*Note: The 2007-2008 deadlines for proposals for the President's Fund for Undergraduate Research have passed. The next deadline for this competition will be in November 2008. If you are interested in applying for undergraduate research funding for a Summer or Fall 2008 project, we encourage you to apply for Undergraduate Enrichment Funds. We accept applications for enrichment funds on a rolling basis.

Undergraduate Enrichment Application

Liberal Arts undergraduate students who are participating in undergraduate research may request financial support for their endeavors.

The primary goal of these funds is to encourage faculty to engage undergraduate students in research.  They may be used to support students engaged in faculty research or research on their own interests.  The purchase of supplies and materials used in research projects, reimbursement of travel to research sites or conferences, and wage payroll all constitute proper use of these funds.

Funds will be available on an application basis.  Interested faculty must send an e-mail to Ashley Tarbet (aet143@psu.edu) containing the following information:

• A brief summary of the proposed research project,
• The name(s) and major(s) of the student(s) participating in the research,
• The amount of funding requested,
• Evidence that the proposal is approved by the department head (anything from a one-sentence endoresment to a commitment of matching funds will do)
