The mission of Multicultural Equity Programs is to assist the College in providing access and equity to traditionally underrepresented students (African American, Latino/Hispanic, & Native American Indian) in higher education. This office works with the broader University leadership to develop and carry out initiatives to ensure an increasing underrepresented student presence. We advocate for continuing efforts to attract and retain the best students to our undergraduate (Bunton – Waller Fellows http://science.psu.edu/Diversity/BWFellowship.htm) and graduate programs. We assist students throughout their educational experience in areas regarding professional development (e.g., mentoring and internships), graduate and education abroad opportunities. We advise students and faculty on retention issues, resolution of equity complaints, and cultural events. We support activities that promote leadership development and organizational change.
