B.A. vs. B.S.
What is the difference between a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree?
The College offers both Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees. The BA degree programs are considered the more traditional Liberal Arts degrees. They provide a more thorough background in the arts, humanities, and social and behavioral sciences. They also require students to develop proficiency (to the 12-credit level) in a single foreign language. The BS degree programs allow a more in-depth study within the major field and frequently involve additional quantification and/or natural science courses. For more information, refer to the Degree Requirements and Policy Statements.
