How Long do LA 495 Internships Last?
Most LA 495 internships are two to three months, following the regular semester start and end dates on Penn State’s Academic Calendar. Summer internships generally start at the end of May and last until mid-August; fall internships run from the beginning of September until mid-December, and spring internships last from mid-January to the beginning of May.
That said, individual start and end dates for LA 495 vary greatly and are often adjusted to accommodate the employer’s needs. You and the student should work out the time period of the internship and we will do our best to adjust the student’s LA 495 course dates accordingly.
Keep in mind that students cannot earn retroactive credit for internships they have already completed. It is important that they register for LA 495 immediately after accepting an internship offer so that all of their hours will count towards academic credit.
