Council Member
Suzanne Pohland Paterno '62 arts and letters helped establish both the Summer Institute for Academic Achievement and the College of the Liberal Arts Alumni Society, for which she served as board member and president. She is also a board member of the Pennsylvania Special Olympics. She was the 1996 Renaissance Woman of the Year, is on the Library Board, and is the Library Campaign Committee honorary chair. She is also a member of the Leadership Gifts Committee for Penn State.
Sue and her husband, Joe, support many University areas including the Florence and Angelo Paterno Graduate Fellowship in the College of the Liberal Arts, the Paterno Family Liberal Arts Professorship in Literature, and the Reverend Thomas Birmingham, S.J. Scholarship in the Classics.
