Malvin E. Bank '52 arts and letters serves as General Counsel to The Cleveland Foundation, the nation's oldest community foundation, and has served in that capacity for 35 years. He is a former partner in the law firm of Thompson Hine LLP, Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Bank is a trustee of Case Western Reserve University and many nonprofit organizations. Mr. Bank is also a director of more than 30 for-profit corporations. He is a recipient of the 1999 Outstanding Liberal Arts Alumni Award and the 2006 Alumni Fellow Award, the Penn State Alumni Association's most prestigious alumni award.

Mal and Lea Bank fund the Lea P. and Malvin E. Bank Early Career Professorships in the College of the Liberal Arts and also provide funding for a post-doctoral position in the Jewish Studies program.
