Arnold S. HoffmanArnold S. Hoffman, '57 journalism, is the retired senior managing director of Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc., a financial services and brokerage firm. He was formerly chairman of Middle Market Group. Hoffman has served as the regional co-chair of the Jewish studies campaign committee, a member of the National Development Council and is a member of the Mount Nittany Society, Laurel Circle, President's Counselors and Campaign Steering Committee for the College of the Liberal Arts. He is a 1997 Penn State Alumni Fellow and was recognized by the Penn State Alumni Association as a Distinguished Alumni in 2007.

He and his wife Bette, '59, support a number of areas across the University and have two funds in Liberal Arts; the Arnold S. and Bette G. Hoffman Professorship in Family Sociology and Demography and the Arnold S. and Bette G. Hoffman Early Career Professorships in the College of the Liberal Arts.
